Al-Masqi Village

Aseer Region boasts heritage treasures with deep historical roots. These villages share the enduring and authentic story of Aseer across generations, reflecting its rich cultural identity and heritage. In coordination with the Urban Landscape, studies are currently underway to develop all heritage villages across the region.

Al-Masqi Village

The village of Al-Masqi is located to the south of the city of Abha at a distance of 33 km, near the road linking Tamniya and Abha. It has a total area of about 78,500 square meters. It is one of the oldest villages in southern Saudi Arabia.
The existence of this village dates back to more than two thousand years. It was considered as one of the visible villages mentioned by God Almighty in the Holy Qur’an in Surat Sheba: “and we made visible villages between them and the villages in which we blessed between Sheba and the Levant”. The village includes about 171 heritage buildings.
