Aseer Region boasts heritage treasures with deep historical roots. These villages share the enduring and authentic story of Aseer across generations, reflecting its rich cultural identity and heritage. In coordination with the Urban Landscape, studies are currently underway to develop all heritage villages across the region.

The village of Al Banhar is located in the Al Areen region, to the east of Aseer. It is considered one of the most prominent archaeological, heritage and historical sites that reflects the region’s ancient legacy, going back centuries. It is home to several stunning palaces, forts, towers (Kasbah) and wells, as well as ancient urban structures.

Architectural Heritage: It contains a unique collection of ancient palaces, fortresses, and historical towers known locally as "Al-Qasbah".
Historical Legacy: It reflects the identity of Aseer and the nature of social and agricultural life throughout the centuries.
Integrated Facilities: It contains ancient engineering structures including wells and facilities that reflect the ingenuity of local architecture.
