The Aseer Urban Observatory joins the Global Urban Observatory Network

The Urban Observatory in the Aseer Development Authority has received international accreditation as an official member of the Global Urban Observatory Network (GUO-Net) under the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) — a new milestone that strengthens the region’s international presence and reflects the Authority’s commitment to achieving its strategic objectives.


This accreditation demonstrates the Authority’s dedication to applying the highest standards of data quality and urban indicators, and to aligning sustainable development metrics with global best practices. It further positions Aseer among the leading cities and regions in urban planning and sustainable development.


The membership comes as part of the Aseer Development Authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance international partnerships and strengthen its data ecosystem through the Urban Observatory — establishing it as one of the national models in developing urban indicators and supporting decision-makers with data-driven insights.
