Acting Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Amr bin Hamoud Al-Omari
He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Aseer Region Development Authority since 2026. The Authority is implementing the “Summits and Values” strategy following its approval by the Council of Ministers and is currently overseeing its execution to achieve development objectives and strategic direction in the Aseer Region.
Experience
He worked in the private sector at Almarai Company and later joined the Ministry of Economy and Planning after studying and working at Ford Motor Company in the United States of America. He contributed to and served on several ministerial committees, including roles in establishing the Local Content Authority, the National Competitiveness Center, and the Research, Development and Innovation Authority. He also served as Head of the Studies, Technology, and Innovation Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, before moving to the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, where he held the position of Director General of all Civil Government Sectors. Dr. Amr represented the Kingdom in numerous meetings at the United Nations and UNESCO and holds several memberships and board positions.
Education
He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, followed by a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, a Master of Business Administration, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems from the United States of America.
Awards
Dr. Amr has received several awards, including Best Graduate Student at the university level, and holds certifications such as SSBB, ISO 9000 Auditor, and PMP.
