The Urban Observatory in Aseer Joins the Global Network of Urban Observatories

The Urban Observatory in the Aseer Development Authority has received international accreditation as an official member of the Global Urban Observatory Network (GUO-Net) under the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) — a new milestone that strengthens the region’s international presence and reflects the Authority’s commitment to achieving its strategic objectives.

This accreditation reflects the Authority’s commitment to applying the highest standards of data quality and urban indicators, and its keenness to align sustainable development indicators with global best practices, thereby reinforcing Aseer’s position among advanced cities and regions in the field of planning and sustainable development.
This membership comes as part of the Aseer Region Development Authority’s direction toward strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the efficiency of its information ecosystem through the Urban Observatory, to serve as a leading national model in developing urban indicators and supporting decision-makers with data-driven insights.
