Launch of Aseer Summer 2025 “Cooler and Closer” Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness the Governor of the Region

Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Aseer Region, officially announced the launch of Aseer Summer 2025 under the theme “Cooler & Closer”, as part of the Saudi Summer Program. The program is being organized under the supervision of the Aseer Development Authority, with the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Tourism Authority.

This summer comes as a continuation of the growing tourism momentum witnessed in the region, after Aseer recorded nearly 8 million visitors in 2024, and is responsible for reinforce the region’s position as a distinctive year-round tourism destination, built on its natural diversity and cultural richness, in line with the objectives of the Aseer Region Development Strategy.
The “Cooler and Closer” summer season features a rich portfolio of entertainment, cultural, and sports events, along with diverse tourism experiences inspired by the beauty of Aseer’s nature and celebrating its civilizational heritage. It includes outdoor adventures, heritage and historical events, activities for nature and camping enthusiasts, entertainment destinations, and renewed family experiences. It also witnesses broad participation from the private sector, contributing to stimulating tourism activity across the region’s governorates and enhancing the quality of services and experiences offered to visitors, in line with the aspirations of local and international visitors.
The network of direct flights to Abha International Airport, comprising approximately 348 flights per week, contributes to facilitating visitor access to the region from various cities across the Kingdom, as well as a number of regional and international destinations. Through more than 11 regular direct destinations operated by 9 national and international airlines—most notably Saudia, flynas, flyadeal, flydubai, Nile Air, Air Arabia, Air Cairo, Jazeera Airways, and Qatar Airways—these direct routes include destinations such as Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, Tabuk, Cairo, Kuwait, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, and Sohag. This air connectivity is a key factor in enhancing the attractiveness of the Aseer Region as an accessible and well-connected destination and supports its development as an integrated tourism destination that attracts visitors year-round.
In a qualitative step toward facilitating exploration of the region, the “Discover Aseer” digital platform launched a comprehensive interactive map highlighting the region’s most prominent destinations and tourist sites. The map covers a wide range of attractions, including historical areas, museums, cultural centers, parks and public gardens, agri-tourism farms, traditional markets, commercial and entertainment centers, seasonal events, as well as camping and caravan sites, restaurants and cafés, and accommodation options—providing visitors with a fully integrated digital guide to plan their trips and experiences.
His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal expressed his deep appreciation to all government entities and the private sector for their contributions to the launch of Aseer Summer 2025, emphasizing that integrated cross-sector collaboration is one of the key pillars of the success of the Aseer Region’s strategy to transform into a year-round global tourism destination. He noted that the region is on an upward journey toward a future envisioned by the “Summits and Values” strategy, and that this season follows the Second Investment Forum, which represents a strong launch point for positioning Aseer as a global tourism destination. He welcomed visitors to Aseer to experience its history as it is revived collectively and to witness firsthand the realization of the leadership’s vision.
