Nature’s Bounty

Aseer is the greenest region in the Kingdom, with a dense vegetation cover that includes evergreen trees, which are of great environmental value and promote tourism in the area.

Aseer is home to 80% of the Kingdom’s forests. The Kingdom has approximately 2,234 species of natural planets, 70% of which can be found in the Aseer region.

Places like the Raida Nature Reserve have contributed to the region’s dense and diverse vegetation cover, and is home to rare bird species, including the Aseeri magpie. The existence and charm of these natural parks have created multiple opportunities for tourism.

The unique and rare perennial trees scattered across the Sarawat mountain range are of great interest to researchers and attract hordes of tourists.

Some of the perennial trees that can be found here are: Al-Talqa, Sycamore, Sidr, Al-Raq’a, Al-Hamr (Tamarind), Al-Dhahyan, Al-Athab, Al-Adnah, Al-Sommal, Poplar, Al-Jawz (known as Qaqa’), Al-Gharb, Ficus, and Al-Ibra. There are about 237 trees distributed across 55 governorates in Aseer.
