The forts and castles of Aseer are architectural marvels, representing its cultural heritage. A study by the Ministry of Tourism indicates that in 2018, almost 5 million local tourists visited these cultural, heritage and archaeological sites in the Kingdom.

Aseer region is also famous for towers called kasbah, which is a circular or rectangular building made of mud, stone or both, generally used for military observation or grain storage.

Al-Qatt Al-Asiri is a legendary representation of Aseer’s regal interior decoration practices, reminiscent of a bygone era. It relies on geometric decorations inspired by the culture of the region and colors of nature. It has become one of the most prominent heritage sites and was registered on the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
