Outdoor Sports

Aseer’s climate and terrain provides a suitable environment for various sporting activities across the sea, desert or mountains.

Aseer has previously hosted many sporting events, such as the International Friendship Championship, launched in the summer of 1996, and Formula 2000 boat races since the winter of 2007, with participation from several European and Arab governorates. Bisha Governorate was also one of the stations of the Saudi Dakar International Rally.

Climbing races in the Tanumah Mountains, and paragliding in Al-Soudah are popular options for adventure enthusiasts. 12 hiking trails have been proposed along Aseer’s various terrains. The region has a lot of scope for sports-related investments by promoting activities like mountain biking, driving on sand dunes, boat racing, diving, surfing, kayaking, organizing camel safaris in the Bisha desert, and playing beach soccer on the coast of Aseer.
