Aseer Summer 2025 “Cooler & Closer” Kicks off under the Patronage of the Region’s Prince

Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Aseer Region, officially announced the launch of Aseer Summer 2025 under the theme “Cooler & Closer”, as part of the Saudi Summer Program. The program is being organized under the supervision of the Aseer Development Authority, with the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Tourism Authority.

This year’s summer season continues the growing momentum of tourism in the region, which welcomed nearly 8 million visitors in 2024. The initiative aims to further establish Aseer as a premier year-round tourism destination, leveraging its diverse natural landscape and rich cultural heritage in line with the objectives of the Aseer Development Strategy.

The “Cooler & Closer” summer program features a vibrant mix of entertainment, cultural, and sports events, along with diverse tourism experiences inspired by Aseer’s natural beauty and cultural legacy. Activities include outdoor adventures, traditional and historical events, nature-based experiences, camping, and family-oriented entertainment. The program also benefits from strong participation by the private sector, which plays a vital role in boosting tourism across the region’s governorates and enhancing the quality of visitor experiences, meeting the expectations of both domestic and international tourists.

Facilitating access to the region, Abha International Airport is now connected via approximately 348 weekly direct flights, linking Aseer with major cities across the Kingdom and several regional and international destinations. These connections span 11 regular direct routes operated by 9 national and international airlines, including Saudia, flynas, flyadeal, flydubai, Nile Air, Air Arabia, Air Cairo, Jazeera Airways, and Qatar Airways. Destinations include Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah, Tabuk, Cairo, Kuwait, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, and Sohag. This extensive air connectivity significantly enhances the region’s accessibility and supports its development as a fully integrated tourism hub.

In a major step toward simplifying travel planning, the “Discover Aseer” digital platform has launched an interactive map, highlighting top destinations and attractions across the region. The map includes historical sites, museums, cultural centers, parks, public gardens, agrotourism farms, traditional markets, shopping & entertainment centers, seasonal events, camping & caravan locations, restaurants, cafés, and accommodation options, providing visitors with a comprehensive digital guide to tailor their travel experiences.

Prince Turki bin Talal expressed his deep appreciation to all public and private entities that contributed to launching Aseer Summer 2025, emphasizing that cross-sectoral collaboration is a cornerstone of the Aseer Strategy’s success in positioning the region as a world-class year-round tourism destination, adding that the region is on an upward journey toward the future envisioned in the Qimam wa Shiam Strategy. He noted that this season follows the second Aseer Investment Forum, which served as a powerful launchpad for Aseer as a global tourism destination, and His Highness extended an invitation to visitors to experience its rich heritage and witness the remarkable progress made in realizing the aspirations of the Kingdom’s leadership.
