Aseer Development Authority Announces the Launch of the “Aseer Tabtaker” Hackathon to Foster Technological Innovation in Service of People, Land, and Economy

The Aseer Development Authority has launched the Aseer Tabtaker Hackathon, in partnership with several government entities, as part of its efforts to achieve the objectives of the Aseer Region Strategy and to enhance the region’s position as a hub for innovation and creativity across various fields.

The Aseer Tabtaker Hackathon aims to harness the energy of youth and national talents to deliver innovative digital solutions aligned with the three pillars of the Qimam & Shiyam (Peaks and Morals) strategy: People, Land, and Economy, by attracting teams from cities across the Kingdom to compete in developing technological projects that address challenges and help shape a better future for the region.

For his part, the Director General of Technology and Digital Transformation at the Aseer Development Authority, Eng. Ali Alraqdi, emphasized that this hackathon is part of a series of technological initiatives aimed at building sustainable digital capabilities among the region’s youth. He explained that the Authority is keen to create a supportive environment for innovation, foster a culture of teamwork, and turn outstanding ideas into sustainable, actionable projects.

Alraqdi added: “We invite all passionate individuals from across the Kingdom to take part in the Aseer Innovates Hackathon and compete with high-quality technological solutions that enrich the region and contribute to realizing the aspirations of our wise leadership.”

It is worth noting that the hackathon will consist of two main stages: a virtual stage (July 31, August 1–2, 2025) and an in-person stage (August 14–15–16, 2025) at King Khalid University. The hackathon will conclude with an awards ceremony honoring the winning teams who present the most innovative solutions and projects, with prizes totaling up to 450,000 SAR, amid hopes that the hackathon’s outcomes will have a tangible impact on sustainable development in Aseer and highlight it as a leading innovation destination in the Kingdom and the region
