“Ajawid 2” Initiative Wins Communitas Award for Excellence in Community Service
The Ajawid 2 initiative has been awarded the prestigious Communitas Award in the category of Excellence in Community Service. The award, presented by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), recognizes outstanding contributions in the fields of social responsibility and community service.
The Communitas Award is recognized as an international effort that honors organizations and individuals who demonstrate excellence in community service and who work to change the way companies and nonprofits conduct business in order to benefit society.
The award covers several areas, including: Excellence in community service, social responsibility for organizations and businesses, and integrating community service with social responsibility.
Dr. Dhansar Al-Fifi, Director General of Community Development, stated that the local community’s involvement was a key reason behind the initiative’s recognition—highlighting that the community was an essential part of the project’s design and implementation.
Notably, Ajawid 2 joins a prestigious list of previous recipients, including: NASA, Toyota, Mastercard, Qatar Foundation, the Poetry Foundation, and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (Kuwait).
Ajawid 2 has delivered 7,043 volunteer initiatives across three main tracks: awareness, giving, and strength. A total of 107,466 participants from across the Aseer region took part, contributing approximately 67,300 volunteer hours, with participation from 3,684 entities (governmental and non-governmental).
