His Highness the Crown Prince launches a strategy to develop Aseer and turn it into a global tourist destination
His Highness the Crown Prince has launched a strategy to transform Aseer into a global tourist destination. His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, launched the Aseer Region Development Strategy under the slogan “Shams and Peaks”, which aims to invest 50 billion Riyals in the region’s development.
The strategy will rely on Aseer’s rich cultural heritage and environment to blend tradition and modernity, and contribute to the region’s social and economic growth. His Highness announced that Aseer’s strategy aims to transform the region into a global tourist destination, attracting more than 10 million visitors by 2030. This will be achieved by investing in quality tourism projects, activating an integrated system to facilitate procedures and enhance the role of tourism and culture. He indicated that this strategy will also generate job opportunities and raise the quality of life by upgrading basic services and infrastructure like communications, health, transportation
His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Aseer region, expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to the Crown Prince for his continuous support and genuine interest in the region and its people through the strategy which seeks to initiate a renaissance for the region. This will benefit the residents of Aseer by raising their quality of life, developing infrastructure and services, and attracting investments for their social and economic development.
